News has reached us with the passing of retired WA/DL pilot Captain William J. 'Bill' Bird, age 74. Born in Barraquilla, Colombia, William John Obregon Bird became a citizen of the United States in 1957. Raised in the San Diego area, Capt. Bird joined Western Airlines 02-24-1969 and retired with Delta Air Lines in 2001, based 030/LAX. He is survived by his wife Mary.
