Steven McLain of Winchester, California, passed away on August 20, 2026.

Steven was born in Lindsay, California, and grew up in Santa Maria, California. He graduated from Valley Christian Academy in 1999 and from Christian Heritage College in El Cajon, California, in 2003.

Steven and his wife, Stephanie, were married for twenty-two years and made their home in Southern California, where they raised their four children, Keira, Liam, Tegan, and Isla. Steven was a devoted husband and father who worked hard to provide for his family, always wanting to make sure they had not only what they needed, but whenever possible, the things they wanted as well. As a husband, he was supportive and dependable, and as a dad, he loved joking around with his kids and sharing his dry, sarcastic sense of humor with them.

Steven worked for Sylvester Roofing for sixteen years as an estimator and project manager. He took seriously his responsibility to work hard and provide for the family he loved.

Those who knew Steven knew his unmistakable dry and sarcastic sense of humor. He tended to keep to himself and wasn't always one to show what was beneath the surface, but those closest to him knew that behind his quiet nature was a deeply generous heart. He cared for the people he loved in his own way, often showing it through what he did for them rather than through words.

Steven was a lifelong Los Angeles Dodgers fan and, more recently, became a hockey fan, especially of the Florida Panthers.

Steven is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his children, Keira, Liam, Tegan, and Isla; his father, Bruce; his mother, Margery; and his sisters, Laura and Katie. He will be deeply missed by his family and by those who knew and loved him.
