Paul James Leinenkugel died at his home in Murrieta, California under the care of Hospice on Monday, June 4, 2012 surrounded by his family and faithful dog Layla after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Paul was born November 27th, 1960 in Charles City, Iowa. He was the son of Norman "Bud" and Mary Jane (Fox) Leinenkugel. He graduated from Osage, Iowa with the class of 1979. He received a football scholarship to attend the University of Dubuque. Due to a knee injury early in the season, he was unable to continue with the team and transferred to the University of Northern Iowa where he was a student for a year. He then transferred to the University of Wisconsin where he graduated with a BA in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. Paul headed West after graduation to start his sales/marketing career. He worked in the corporate relocation/storage industry for ten years and then in the solar energy industry as a sales consultant for the last several years. It was out West where he met the love of his life, Cindi Darnell. They were united in marriage in 2000 and settled in the Southern California area with their family. Paul's joys in life included the company of family and good friends, weightlifting, exploring music (and sharing his finds by creating CD's which were creatively titled), grilling in his favorite apron and trying out new recipes he and Cindi got from watching the Food Network, and, of course, a good glass of wine or stein of beer. Paul loved to have a good time, never knew a stranger, liked to tease his kids and their friends and was known to talk "baby talk" to Booty Boy (aka Layla …DDD) the family dog. He will be greatly missed. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Cindi; step-daughters, Amber and Lindsey; step-son, Garrett of Murrieta; brothers, Joe, John (Kathy) and Jim Leinenkugel; sisters, Rose (Tom) Hagemann and Therese (Tim) Rolfes all of Des Moines, IA and Mary Anne Leinenkugel of Osage, IA. He also survived by many nieces and nephews and close cousins. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Jane, and Father, Norman "Bud" Leinenkugel, and his brother Tom. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the England Family Mortuary in Temecula, CA
