Mary Alice Hoffman passed away suddenly on July 17, 2026, due to unexpected health complications. A woman of boundless warmth, vibrant energy, and unwavering faith, Mary left an indelible mark on every heart she touched.

Born on October 27, 1948, in Wisconsin, Mary grew up in Northern Illinois before moving on to Indiana and then finally settling in California to write the many wonderful chapters of her life. She was married to the love of her life, Larry Hoffman, for 52 beautiful years. Their marriage was a testament to devotion and partnership; Mary lived to care for, support, and enjoy life alongside Larry, especially during their retirement years.

Mary’s devotion to her family was unwavering. She was a loving, proud mother to her son, Michael Hoffman, and was a steadfast presence through all of life’s milestones—from quiet moments shared over the years to festive family Christmases. She is also survived by seven of her nine brothers and sisters, along with a large network of loving extended family and dear friends.

Professionally, Mary spent 20 successful years in sales, where her natural warmth and charisma shone bright. Beyond her sales career, her true passion lay in nurturing young minds; she dedicated many years to working with children both in daycare and teaching Sunday school.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her existence. As an active member of North Coast Church her love for the Lord was evident through her unconditional love for family and friends, her deep commitment to her life group, and her genuine desire to know and connect with people. Mary never met a stranger—she was always the first to start a conversation, and she knew everyone by name at her favorite Chick-fil-A.

Mary lit up every room she entered. She had a joyful spirit and could often be found singing everything from worship music to The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, and John Denver. She loved the beauty of the ocean, the excitement of going on cruises, and bringing joy to others. Anyone who knew Mary will remember her joyful smile, her wonderful stories, and her habit of carrying a sweet to brighten someone’s day.

Mary’s legacy of love, faith, joy, and laughter will live on through her husband, Larry, her son, Michael, and all who were blessed to know her.
