Marilyn was born to Gertrude and Lee Stamper In San Diego. The only girl in a family of four, she grew up loving friends, the outdoors and her family. These are things she continued to love her whole life. Living in the Bay Area and most recently Murrieta, CA, she loved the wine country and made friends with all who met her.
She was proud of her career. As part of the divestiture of Pacific Bell from AT&T she worked through a part of American telecom history. Finally retiring as assistant director at Verizon Wireless. She oversaw projects ranging from military communications to the first iteration of the Spanish language website for Verizon. Referred to by her colleagues as "The Marilyn." A woman of leadership, she helped work on projects that transformed the telecommunications industry from analog to digital and web based before retiring.
