Lynne Kapryn, age 76, passed away at home from complications due to cancer in the early-morning hours of August 1st, 2026. 

She was born on March 10th, 1950 in Hampshire in southern England as Lynne Cecilia Mary Oaten. Lynne emigrated from the United Kingdom to the United States in 1965 with her parents, Peter J Oaten and Constance (Chafer) Oaten, and brother Peter. She graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1968 in Drexel Hill just outside of Philadelphia.

A secretary by trade, Lynne travelled around the world from 1972 to 1974 and traversed and lived in a variety of countries including Australia, New Zealand, Rhodesia and South Africa while working in office settings to support her travels.

She returned to the Philadelphia area following a stay in Fiji and Hawaii at the end of her around-the-world trip in 1974. Following a blizzard during the frigid winter of 1978, Lynne sought a warmer climate on the mainland that was reminiscent of Hawaii and moved to San Diego. It was there that she met her future husband Ken in 1984, was married in 1985, and had her son Russell the following year. In 1996, she moved with her family to Temecula. 

In addition to Ken and Russell, she is survived by her brother Peter and wife Pauline, sister-in-law Jan, and many cousins.

She was a member and active participant in the Daughters of the British Empire, the St. Martha's English Charismatic Prayer Group, and the Temecula Valley Genealogy Society, of which she enjoyed composing and writing about her life stories and family history.
