Luis Contreras, a beloved husband, father, brother, Papa, and great-papa, passed away on April 6, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born on February 26, 1956, to Luis Contreras and Ramona Facundo in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Luis was a man who dedicated his life to his family. He was known for his strong work ethic, taking great pride in providing for his loved ones, and building a life rooted in love and commitment.

Luis shared a beautiful life with his wife of 49 years, Maria. Together they created countless cherished memories. He especially loved traveling with her, as well as with his children and grandchildren, creating moments that will be remembered for generations.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including watching football and baseball while supporting his favorite teams, the San Diego Chargers, and the San Diego Padres. He enjoyed carne asadas while surrounded by family, where laughter and togetherness were always present. His greatest happiness came from being with those he loved most.

Luis is survived by his loving children: Gilbert (Rafaela), Robert , Luis Jr. (Janie) and Cindy (Robert).

He was a proud PAPA to Estevan, Selena, Anthony, Nicholas, Lilliana, Luis, Adam and Drew. He was also a loving great-Papa to Jace and Julissa.

Luis is also survived by his siblings: his twin brother, Victor ; brothers Arnoldo ,Omar ; and sister, Idalia.

Luis will be remembered as a hardworking family man, a devoted husband, and a guiding presence in the lives of all who knew him. His love, wisdom, and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of his family.
