Obituary

Cora Louise Meadows, was born on July 1, 1931 in Simon, Wyoming Co. WVa. She was the second daughter of William Henry Meadows and Daisy Corabelle Lilly. Her parents went by nicknames of Johnny and Happy. Her father's side were direct descendants of the first settlers who got off the boat at Jamestown, VA in 1607. Her mother's side were direct descendants of people who were in Virginia before 1620, and were among the first settlers in what is now the state of West Virginia, during the early 1700s. Louise went to work for the Federal Government in 1949, at the age of 18 in Washington DC in the Pentagon. Her career with the Federal Government lasted more than 50 years, finishing up at a Chief Investigator for the EEO ( Equal Employment Opportunity) of the U.S. Dept of Labor. Married twice to career military personnel, her career spanned locations from Europe to Asia and the Pacific. Louise also spent several years at President of the Federally Employed Women's Union, yet found time to always be active in her Church. She was also mother to 3 boys, John, Don and Robert. Mrs Kato is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lt. Col A. Edward Kato ( USAF retired); her oldest son John; Robert; sisters Lois, Jo, Lucy, and Jhanna Jo. She was also blessed with 4 granddaughters... Sarah, Amy, Lisa and Clarese, one grandson, Jonathan., and 6 great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death of her sister Laura also of Peterstown, WV and her son, Donald, who died at the age of 16.
