Loredana Biro: May 14, 1943 – December 27, 2022

Italian. Smart. Beautiful. Fighter!

The younger of two sisters, Loredana Biro was born to a single mother in Bologna Italy in 1943,
almost exactly two (2) years before Polish and American troops liberated the city as World War
II was ending.
Throughout her entire life, even beginning with her early childhood, she was a fighter!
Loredana's upbringing was in a ravaged post-war Italy including time in an orphanage, moving
between her several aunts that lived in or near the city and that helped to raise her, and
sporadic time with her own mother. At only sixteen (16) years old, a beautiful young woman
with movie-star looks, she met her future husband, Bela A. Biro, on a blind date, fell in love, and
soon after, brought her first of two sons into the world, Bela Marco Biro. Circumstances led
Loredana and her young family to make the move to the United States, California, where she
would learn to speak English, to have a second child, Alessandro (Alex) Biro, attend university,
and from nothing, to grow a non-profit organization serving the elderly, fighting inequities for a
segment of the population she was passionate about long before it became popular to do so,
finally retiring to pursue her interests that included reading everything she could get her hands
on, becoming a certified master gardener, and traveling the world.
Loredana is survived by her two sons, Bela and Alex, their loving wives, Cynthia and Stacy, three
grandchildren, Chase, Morgan and Nicholas, and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Jonas
Biro.
