In Loving Memory of Laurence Anthony “Tony” Lavers

Laurence Anthony Lavers, lovingly known as Tony or Uncle Tony, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, laughter, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Tony was born on August 17, 1941, in South Los Angeles, California, to Walter Clifford Lavers and Eileen Mary Lavers. A proud native Californian, he spent his life in the state he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Barbara Elizabeth Blackwell. He is survived by his niece, Kelle Patterson, and his nephews, Brice Blackwell and Keith Blackwell, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

For 35 years, Tony proudly worked for Anheuser-Busch in Van Nuys, California. He genuinely loved his career and the people he worked with. If given the chance, he would have happily continued working well into his eighties because he found so much purpose and enjoyment in what he did.

Tony will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, gentle spirit, and generous heart. Although he never had children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews as though they were his own. Family was incredibly important to him, and he never missed an opportunity to offer encouragement, advice, or a helping hand.

He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help a friend, neighbor, or family member without hesitation and never expected anything in return. His quiet acts of kindness and selflessness touched countless lives.

Tony also had a gift for sharing life’s wisdom. Whether through a thoughtful conversation, a well-timed joke, or a handwritten note tucked inside a funny greeting card, he always found ways to lift the spirits of those around him. He loved clipping newspaper and magazine articles that reminded him of someone he cared about, sending them long with words of love, encouragement, and humor that made each recipient feel special.

To know Tony was to know kindness, generosity, loyalty, and unconditional love. He had a remarkable ability to make people smile and to remind them that they mattered. His warmth, wisdom, and infectious sense of humor will be deeply missed but forever remembered by everyone whose lives he touched.

Tony’s family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the countless acts of kindness that defined his life.  

He was dearly loved, and he will be missed beyond measure.
