Heavenly Father,

We come before you with grateful hearts lifting the soul of your faithful servant Master Sergeant Jose A. Martinez. For 30 years, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, defending freedom with courage and sacrifice. We thank you Lord for his strength, his loyalty and his dedication to duty. Grant him eternal rest Lord and let everlasting light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Comfort his loving wife LaVerne Keeto and his children Emery Leyva, Laramie Leyva, and Ernestina Martinez. Bless his six grandchildren with your peace and guidance. Fill their hearts with your love and strengthen their faith during this time of remembrance. Lord, as you called Jose to serve in the Corps, now call him to serve in your eternal kingdom where there is no pain, no suffering, and everlasting joy. May he stand with all Marines who have gone before him, united in your grace in the company of angels and saints, at his new duty station with St. Peter at the Pearly gates, on guard duty.
