Obituary

Beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Son, Brother, and Uncle, John (Jack) Robertson Marshall, passed away in Murrieta on April 3, 2020 at the age of 95. Jack was a native Californian, and was born and raised in the Inglewood area of Los Angeles. In 1942, he gave up a college basketball scholarship and enlisted in the Navy. He was proud to serve his country as a Navy Gunner during WWII. He married his wife of 63 years, Norma Wallace, in 1948. They raised a family of four children starting in Inglewood, and moved in 1956 to their longtime residence in Anaheim. Together they enjoyed family get togethers and holidays, summer vacations in Palm Springs, and traveling out of state to visit their oldest son. In 2004, Jack and Norma moved to Murrieta to be closer to their children. Jack worked for over 40 years in Sales, supplying parts to the Aerospace industry. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, listening to music, watching TV, rooting for the Angels Baseball Team, cheeseburgers and chocolate shakes, and LOTS and lots of coffee. For many of his retired years, he volunteered his help at the Lane Victory Ship that is docked in San Pedro. He enjoyed working on ship maintenance and working the day cruises the ship took near Catalina and back. Jack is predeceased by his wife Norma, his daughter Connie Fennell, his parents John and Flora Marshall, brothers Gordon Marshall and Walter Marshall, and his sister Helen Harp. He is survived by his sons James Marshall (Janelle) and John D. Marshall (Mary Jayne), and daughter Cari Forrester (David), grandsons Blake, Jason, John, Scott, Jake, granddaughters Stacy, Jennifer, Ruthie, and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He will be missed for his kind and thoughtful manner, his humor, his patriotism, and his love for his big family. Internment will be at Riverside National Cemetery. A private memorial will be planned at a later date.
