Dr. Jack Marshall was born on April 12th, 1932, in Canton, Ohio. Dr. Marshall passed away on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at the age of 94 in Temecula, California. 

In his youth, Jack especially enjoyed playing saxophone in a small band and going fishing with his friends. However, he loved learning and was a voracious reader. When he took a keen interest in something, he devoted himself to its mastery. He graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in industrial engineering and moved to Delaware to work at DuPont where he met his wife, Jane. They wed in 1956 and moved to Chicago where he attended the University of Chicago and graduated with a PhD in statistics. Statistics was something he had taken a keen interest in while at DuPont. He accepted a position in the mathematics department of Westinghouse Research and Development Labs in Pittsburgh where he spent his entire post-doctorate career. 

Jack and Jane were married for 65 years, until her passing in 2021, and raised three children. Jack is survived by his three children, Susan, James, and Christopher; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
