George Antonio Ortiz, 72, of Seaside California, passed away on January 18th, 2020. The memorial service will be held at England Family Mortuary in Temecula, California on February 3rd at 1:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery. Burial will be held on February 4th, in San Diego, California at 9:30 am. George was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on April 15th, 1947. He graduated from Seaside High School. Shortly afterward, he joined the United States Marine Corp. He was wounded in battle during the Vietnam War and honorably discharged. He went on to become a Correctional Officer in California. He took great pride of his dedication and work ethic within the department, spanning successfully over 37 years. He retired as an Associate Warden. George is survived by his wife Diane Faith Ortiz. They share a blended family of six children, sixteen grand children and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Vilma Howard and brother Antonio Buechold. George has joined his parents Antonio and Carmen Ortiz, alongside his sister Carmen Stafford, in God's Kingdom.
