Dennis James Brennan, 83, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at his home in Temecula, California, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 19, 1942, at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Manhattan, NY, to James Bernard and Marie Antoinette (Coyle) Brennan, he was the elder of two children. Dennis grew up in Parkchester, NY, and graduated from the State University of New York Maritime College (Fort Schuyler) in 1964. He married his beloved wife, Patti, on February 27, 1965. He devoted his entire career to the maritime industry, working for many years as an executive in the private sector and later with the U.S. Maritime Administration, retiring in 2015 after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Dennis received a lung transplant in 2016 and was grateful for every day of the ten years of life he received through this extraordinary gift. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patti; his children, Peter and his wife Stephanie, Lisa, Kevin and his wife Victoria, and Megan and her husband Ken; his twelve grandchildren, David, Jacob, Matthew, Katherine, Madeline, Caroline, Robert, Mikaela, John Patrick, Nicholas, Charlotte, and Kylena; and his brother, James Brennan.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew's Abbey, 31001 N. Valyermo Rd., Valyermo, on Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held at the England Family Mortuary, 27135 Madison Ave., Temecula, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 19. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
