The sun cast off the mantle of heavy silver clouds ,before it crested the mountains .As it began its ritual sojourn across the eastern sky , it reached out across the valley and lit the room in a golden glow , to shine directly on my friend Dane . He greeted those warming rays wordlessly but with a sense of triumph .He fought valiantly through the night Because the new day promised a chance to go home . Dane is home . He left us at 6:34am with the sound of his daughter Crystal's love for him in his ears , in the caring arms of his extraordinary beloved Wanda , his son Jonathan at his side with Kristen and an old friend . .Free of the pain and malignancy that stole his youth and his life .He is home now He is at rest . We who knew and loved him ,mourn his passing and celebrate his life .
