Dalia Leivas
Empante
August 4, 1938 – April 17, 2026
Dalia Leivas Empante — August 08, 1938 to April 17, 2026
Her heart and her home were always open. She could always be counted on to be there, and she cared for everyone as if they were her own. She gave all of herself to her family until her last breath. Dalia Leivas Empante, 87, of Sun City, California, passed away on April 17, 2026.
Dalia was born in Blythe, California, in 1938, to Manuel Leivas and Rosenda Robles. Blythe was where she spent most of her life—attending school, getting married, and starting a family with four children. Her life was centered on her family. She took care of not only her own children, but also her nieces and nephews, along with her grandchildren.
On June 27, 1960, Dalia married Eugene Empante. They shared 66 wonderful years together until Eugene’s death in 2024. She was his barometer and constant companion—his partner in crime and steady presence through it all. As the wife of a grower, their life took them from Blythe to Lemoore, Santa Maria, and finally Sun City, where they retired.
Dalia and Gene raised four children: Veronica Kirk, Dalia Razo, Virginia Roman, and Eugene Empante. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She adored each of them, loved them deeply, and was always proud of them.
Dalia loved gardening and growing flowers, which roses were her favorite. She was sentimental and kept many things that other people might not have—whether it was flowers, cards, or keepsakes from special events. She was in constant correspondents with her family sending so many letters, that her husband said, “she keeps the post office in business”.
Dalia will always be remembered as a compassionate woman who was willing to listen to anyone who needed a sympathetic ear. In that way, she showed empathy and compassion to everyone around her, whether it was her family, a neighbor, or the people she met at the doctor’s office. She was also incredibly generous, giving not just her time and energy, but anything she had—any possession or sum she could offer. She was a devout Catholic with strong faith in God, and she thanked Him every day for her family and her good fortune. Dalia will live on in our hearts and memories, and her love will never be forgotten.
