In Loving Memory of Chinh
Chinh, the eldest of seven siblings, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Tuesday, October 13th, with his beloved wife, Hoang, by his side.
Chinh came to America as an immigrant with little to his name but a strong work ethic, determination, and a dream of bringing his family together. He worked his way up from earning $4.25 an hour, often living on Top Ramen and leftovers to save every dollar he could. Through hard work and sacrifice, he was able to bring his wife and daughter to America in 1994. He lived humbly, shopping at thrift stores and wearing his clothes until they were well-worn, always choosing to save rather than spend on himself.
But Chinh’s life was about so much more than hard work and sacrifice. Throughout his years, he devoted his time, heart, and energy to the Buddhist temple and the community he loved. He welcomed those who needed help with open arms because he understood what it felt like to have nothing. Having experienced hardship himself, he never forgot the importance of compassion, generosity, and lending a helping hand.
Chinh lived a life of quiet sacrifice and selfless service. He gave so much of himself to his family, friends, and community, often putting the needs of others before his own. His life was a testament to the belief that true wealth is not measured by what we possess, but by what we give to others.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love, gratitude, and respect.
