Catalina Figueroa
Ocampo
Feb 13, 1940 — Aug 7, 2026
Our Ima, Catalina “Tali” Figueroa Ocampo, 86, passed away on August 7, 2026.
“Ima was our rock. She was the wind beneath our wings”.
She was born in Pampanga, Philippines to Hilario “Ingkong Ariong” Sambo Figueroa and Maria “Apung Bayang” Canlas David.
She made sure there was always food on our table when we were growing up in the Philippines. To support our father, Domingo “Doming” Yusi Ocampo (a locomotive/train driver of Philippine National Railways) in providing for the family, Ima always helped Tatang. She was a seamstress before she and Tatang got married. She was always setting up small businesses; from the sari-sari store to selling PX items in front of the San Fernando Cathedral, to making tocino and longganisa, and house to house merchandising.
She is survived by her children, Nilda, Lito, Norman, Rodel, Grace, and Mervin, their spouses, and 11 grandchildren (plus one in heaven).
She made sure that all her children and grandchildren immigrated to the US.
She was quietly strong and resolved. Her legacy of love, strength, and dedication to family will live on.
