Obituary

Carlos Ignacio McCowan, July 27, 1969 – May 11, 2026, a resident of Winchester, CA. 

Born at George Air Force Base in Victorville, CA, he was the beloved son of James and Ruby McCowan, brother to James and Derek, cousin to Ken Singleton and devoted husband for 30 years to Patricia McCowan. Carlos was a loving father to his daughter Brianna and her Husband Jason Childs, daughter Charity, son Carlos (CJ) and his fiancé Heather Hersh and grandchildren, Jordyn, Harper and Maverick. 

Carlos was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. His service to his country included a tour of duty in the Desert Storm campaign. 

An avid outdoorsmen, he cherished his time camping with family and friends, bicycling, motocross and ATVs, sporting events, family trips and excursions. He was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Dodgers. 

He volunteered with The Kurt Caselli Foundation and was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Wildomar where he was known for qualities such as kindness, humor, strength and generosity. Those who knew him, admired his professionalism, dedication to family and friends and a great work ethic. 

A public Memorial Service, “A Celebration of Life” will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 10:30am at Cornerstone Community Church, 34570 Monte Vista Drive, Wildomar, CA. 

He will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:00pm. 

In lieu of flowers, his family recommends donations in his name to The Kurt Caselli Foundation and Cornerstone Community Church. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. 

Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
