Antonio Hernandez Zepeda was born in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico on July 17, 1941. He entered into eternal life at home on September 13, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carmen Aguilera Zepeda their two children, Tony Zepeda (Mary Anne) & Laura Kirkpatrick (Edward), 4 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 1 great-grandson. Antonio was born to Jesus and Mercedes Zepeda. He had four siblings: the oldest, Jesus Zuniga, Concepcion Zuniga, Ernesto Zepeda, and Socorro Zepeda (Lopez). He was the youngest sibling and was the last to pass. They were all orphaned when Antonio was only 8 years old. He and his siblings were split up amongst the extended family. Antonio and Ernesto ventured on their own sometimes surviving on the streets. Though this was some of the darkest times in his life he spoke of them as if they were grand adventures with his brother. Antonio and Carmen married in 1963 and lived in Tijuana, Mexico. They moved to San Diego in 1966 where they raised their family. He worked at California Linen in downtown San Diego for over 30 years. In 1994 he and his wife moved to Temecula where they were co-founders of Tortilleria Temecula and ran it in until 1996. He began working with the Temecula Valley School District as a custodian at Chaparral High School. In 2007 he "retired" from the district but continued working as a substitute. He subbed often at Great Oak High School where he would often see his granddaughters. In early 2015 he finally retired. Antonio enjoyed traveling the world with his beautiful wife Carmen. He especially liked traveling on cruise ships. Together they've sailed the Panama Canal, the Mexican Riviera, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and the western Canadian coast. They've explored Italy, Spain, Hawaii, and many places within the U.S. Most of all he enjoyed Las Vegas. The shows and the comp rooms would entice them. He touched so many lives and WE are so thankful for all the love he has given us; the smile, the stories, the laughter, the memories. We will truly miss him. Until we see you again.
