It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beloved Mother, Alice Marie Boyd; an amazing Mother of 3, a Grandmother of 5, and Great-grandmother of 4.  She loved her family with all her heart and enjoyed spending time with her children when they were able to spend time with her.

When she was young, she lived in Salem, Oregon and had a horse and she loved to ride him.  She loved animals of all kinds, but especially dogs.  Growing up, she had a beautiful dog named Mr. Rex, he was a big and beautiful, black and white dog who was incredibly kind and loving.

Alice grew up during the depression, and because her father was physician, he felt compelled to enlist in the military and help the wounded soldiers in many destinations.  However, the downside of this, was that her mom, Ellen, was basically a single woman with a child, and it was difficult for them to find a place to live because of these circumstances.  Somehow, Ellen made sure to find a way to support the two of them.  Because of this time, Alice and her mom were extremely close and loved each other beyond imagination.

During her High School years, she was involved in synchronized swimming and won awards for her performances.  She had an opportunity to go with a group of friends to San Francisco, California on a bus.  She had a wonderful time and wrote to her parents to share all the details of her adventures.

After High School, she went to Long Beach City College to become a Veterinarian, her lifelong dream of working with animals.  However, life had different plans for her and she married her High School sweetheart, Willis M. Knight, Jr.  During their marriage they had three children, Lucille Lenore, Jeffrey Michael, and Kathryn Marie.

When her children were in their teens, she decided to go back to College and attended Cerritos Community College.  She planned on working towards her Associate Degree.  As she was taking classes she signed up for Theatre Class.  She found her calling, performing and singing. From that point on she realized that this was what she wanted to do and only took classes that represented her new desire.

As time passed, she moved to Hemet, California and became involved performing with Dan Damon.  They would travel to different functions, and she performed throughout Hemet, CA., during the early 2000's.

She also sang in the Choir at Union Church. Until her last birthday, friends would comment how much they loved her voice and missed hearing her sing.

Alice was also a member of Eastern Star, a religious organization.   There was a lot of memorization involved in each of the levels achieved. She would also drive out to spend time with the elderly and comfort them during her visits.  She spent hours, upon hours memorizing, especially when she became Worthy Matron in 2014.

She was also incredibly talented in painting, and arts & crafts, winning many awards for her work.  She painted and created handmade cards for friends and family, she loved to be creative.  She also won awards for her many ceramic creations made.  She was also an avid gardener and loved her roses in the front of her home in Hemet.

Alice is preceded in death by her first husband, Willis Merle Knight, Jr., and her second husband James L. Boyd.  She is also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Michael Knight, her grandson Brent William Binger and her granddaughter Michelle Kathleen Catranis.

Alice is survived by her two daughters, Lucille Lenore Cocores and Kathryn Marie Binger; her grandchildren Christine Marie Christensen, Brandon Frank Auld, and Daniel Scott Binger; her great-grandchildren, Serena Danielle Christensen, Ryder Christopher Christensen, Ariel Isabela Christensen and Justin Andrew Auld.

Rest in Peace beautiful Alice Marie.  You brightened every room you entered and brought so much joy and laughter to everyone around you.  You have inspired us to live life to the fullest, take risks and enjoy the small things.  There will never be another Alice Marie, because God broke the mold when he made you. There will never be a sunrise or sunset that we are not thinking of you and sending you all our Love.
