Alerino Iacobo, 65, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at his home in Murrieta. There will be a 10:00 Mass at Saint Catherine Catholic Church in Temecula Friday, October 1, 2010 following by interment at Murrieta Laurel Cemetery. Family request a donation to either the American Cancer Society or Hospice of The Valleys in lieu of flowers. Alerino Iacobo, 65, died Wednesday, Sept 29, 2010, in his home in Murrieta, CA. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Daphne, and sons Eric and Aaron. Born in Roccamonfina, Italy, he grew up in Providence and lived in Bristol for 32 years. An alumnus of URI, Middlebury College and University of Florence, he taught Spanish and Italian in Providence schools, retiring in 2006. He coached athletic teams, was a soccer & lacrosse referee and became an avid and skilled golfer. Memorial mass will be held Friday, Oct 8, at Mount Carmel Church in Bristol. Reception to follow at Lobster Pot. In lieu of flowers, donations in Al's memory may be made to UCSD Moores Cancer Center (cancer.ucsd.edu) or Hospice of the Valleys (hospiceofthevalleys.org).
