Paul Vincent Shaw

Born Paul Vincent Shaw on March 13, 1927 in Long Beach, CA. He was the eighth child of Robert Darwin Shaw and Mary Olive Murray Shaw. Not wanting to be left behind during World War 2, Paul left High School and joined the Navy in April 1945. He served in the South Pacific until August 1946 where he returned to complete high school. Paul married Barbara Lee Malott on September 14, 1952. Paul and Barbara had four children. Mark Vincent Shaw, Ross Connor Shaw, Paula LaRae Shaw (Wilson) and Brian Ray Shaw. Together, they raised their four children in Southern California. Paul was known for his love of exploring and adventure. He traveled the United States with his family. When he was home, he spent his time keeping up his home with his wife Barbara, taking his children to church and enjoyed motorcycle touring. He spent many weekend afternoons exploring on his motorcycle with his children. Paul spent the majority of his working years working in sales in the custom window covering business with major department stores. Later in his career, he branched off on his own in this same area, now focusing on installation of window coverings. During retirement, he and Barbara spent many weekends and summer vacations with their children and grandchildren. He and Barbara took several long distance trips around the United States including a tour up to Alaska. Paul passed away at the age of 91 on July 7, 2018 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife Barbara Lee Shaw and children Mark Vincent Shaw, Ross Connor Shaw and Paula LaRae Wilson along with 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
