Pat went home to be with her Lord and Savior on 6/26/18. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Ling who died in 1983. Pat is survived by her son, Randall Ling, daughter-in-law, Laurel Ling, her two grandsons, Brian and Keith Ling, her brother Charles Hull of Fallbrook, CA 3 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was born and raised in Southwestern Pennsylvania to Charles and Leora Hull. There she met her future husband Clair Ling, the son of Elmer and Mary Ling of Central City Pa. They were married in Cairnbrook, Pa. in July of 1951 and remained together until his death in 1983. She moved to Cherry Valley, CA in 1985. She lived on Jonathan Ave. since that time and early on in California, she spent much of her time caring for her aging parents who lived 2 miles away. Pat was very active in Cherry Valley for many years, and was a member of the Cherry Valley Chamber of Commerce for a time. She was also a member of the Grange and volunteered her time on many occasions to things that were important to the community and its residents. She was a very generous and giving person. She battled cancer for the past several years and was in constant pain from various surgeries and treatments. She very much appreciated the excellent care she received from Dr. Dreisbach who treated her like family. She also was blessed with other local doctors, Doctor Loaiza among them. Pat suffered a great deal over her last several years, however; she was still able to help others through her knitting. She made over 700 beanies that she donated to her doctor’s office so they could be given to cancer patients who had lost their hair from treatments. She knitted many afghans and crafted numerous quilts, pillow cases and blankets. She truly had a gift for handmade items, many of which she gave away to people in need. Pat will be laid to rest in Channahon, Illinois, alongside her husband Clair. Her family is eternally grateful to her many friends and caregivers in the Cherry Valley Area who have lovingly supported her over the many years she spent here. They were a great blessing to her and enabled her to enjoy her last several years in her home which was her greatest desire.
