lynn ashmead
Lynn R Ashmead, known as Dick was born November 17, 1928 in California. He was raised in the Norwalk/Whittier area. He served in the Korean War, loved doing woodworking, had a great faith in the LORD and loved being with his family. He loved trains and enjoyed doing models and puzzles. He was always doing a project of some kind. Over the years, he had been involved with many organizations, which he always ended up being the president, chief, or head guy. He also had a 38-year career with the Los Angeles County Road Department, where he met many movie stars and got lots of free tickets to Universal Studios, of course this was years ago. He met his wife at a “get together” at a mutual friend’s house and married, Ramona Joyce Atkinson, on January 1, 1948 and they were together for 69 years. During that time, they had 3 children, Deborah, Rick, and Julie. Dick is survived by his wife, Ramona, daughter Deborah Blackburn, her husband Robert Blackburn, son Rick Ashmead and his wife Michelle Ashmead, daughter Julie Bungenstock, her husband Michael Bungenstock. Eight Grandkids, Erick Blackburn, Nick Blackburn, Alyssa Sanchez, Tiffany Ashmead, Ricky Ashmead, Ashley Wirt, Breanna Bartell, and Becka Bungenstock, along with 17 great grandkids and still counting. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed greatly.

  1. I will miss this wonderful man who often referred to me as “other daughter” and when I asked how he was I always got a giggle out of his’ “pitiful, thank you” response. You were one of the great one’s Dick Ashmead and you will be missed by so many. ♥

  2. You were there at every family event. It was always a treat to sit and have a converesation with you and Rae. I am so grateful to have known you and count you among those I’ve known and loved.
