Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Dad, we all miss you, but in some ways are jealous that you are in the presence of Jesus, past family members and old friends. Not only is your body, mind and spirit now perfect, you are actually in the presence of more family and friends than when you were here on earth. This will be true for all of us, but your passing just made me think deeper on life after earthly death.

Thank you for the many good times and your endless sense of humor. We enjoyed thousands of hours watching ball games, attending events and competing in card games. Those card games and family gatherings are some of my best memories of family time. You also thought me many things earlier in life that helped me along the way. Like; doing my taxes, how to hang wallpaper straight, using various tools,, maintaining my cars, and much more…. THANK YOU FOR SHARING

I am sorry that your final years were so challenging, but that will make your entry into heaven all that much sweeter. We know that you enjoyed family gatherings, and we will all be gathering on Tuesday and Wednesday to remember and celebrate you…!

We know that you will be there in heaven waiting to greet all of us when it is our turn, and we look forward to reuniting again for eternity.

You were a good and sweet man and will be missed.

As you always said. “Thats’ the way it was moving west”

    Love you…!

    Dennis

  2. I got to have my first beer w/Dad working out in the yard on Cowles Mtn pulling the ice plant off the hill.I thought it was so cool cuz I was only 14

  3. I remember we or I called him Buzzard, everyone had a nickname in the family so after his first open heart surgery I purchased a buzzard stuffed animal and hung it on his IV pole. The nurses weren’t to sure about it but I thought it was great! He loved it and kept it on there

  4. It’s hard to know where to begin describing my dad and all the memories I have. I will always remember him as a fix-it man. In my eyes as a young girl he could fix anything. So much so that I wrote an essay in grammar school of why my dad was best and I won. I read it to the whole school, I was so proud of him. I can still see him sitting at the kitchen table with the toaster pieces all over trying to fix it. I enjoyed spending time with him, watching him change the oil in the car, work on the roses and fruit trees. I’d ask him a question and he wouldn’t answer, he would say “what do you think”. Mom liked to have the Christmas trees flocked so we would buy a do-it-yourself kit and flock the tree in the backyard with our canister vacuum cleaner. He would spray and I would carry the canister around the tree trying not to get the cord wrapped in the tree. He taught me many things, how to drive a stick shift in the big green truck, how to balance a check book, how to shop for cars:) I don’t recall my dad ever saying a negative or cruel comment about anyone. When I had an assignment in Junior High home education I had to practice doing manicures and he just laid on the couch and let me practice on his hands. I think he actually enjoyed it. Whenever a new grandbaby was born and he held them he would call them “itty bitty”. He loved his family, always perked up when family was around. I love his smile, he was so handsome. I could go on but all that to say we all have wonderful memories of a wonderful dad.
I’ll miss you dad but I have a lifetime of memories that won’t diminish, until we meet again.
    I love you,
    Ginny

  6. Mr. Cook~ what a wonderful man. You and Dorothy were such loving examples in my youth. I will always treasure your smile, your humor and your kindness to me and all who knew you. Family was everything and I certainly felt like you and Dorothy were my second parents. While you will be deeply missed here, it gives me joy to know that Diana is with her beloved father once again.

  7. Nancy Sue Hart Mr. Cook. RIP and know that you lived the good life. I have known your daughter Brenda for over 30 years and she is a wonderful human being-caring and loving. Enjoy your rest until we all meet again

Cindy Dangerfield My dad was such a character and loved to make people laugh. He used to entertain us while jumping up in the air and clicking his shoes together like Gene Kelly. He loved eating his food so much that he would ignore us while eating. So, one day while …See More
