LAWRENCE WAYNE CAPRIO

lawrence caprio
It is with great sadness that we announce that on December 28th, 2016 Lawrence (Larry) Wayne Caprio Jr. surfed his last wave into the sunset. This loss is deeply felt by all that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Wayne Caprio Sr. and is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Jackie Caprio, two daughters Tammi and Holly, mother Lois, brother and sister-in-law Dale and Faith Caprio, sister and brother-in-law Lynn and Robert Porovich, sister and brother-in-law Susan and Danny Rodgers, brother Paul Caprio, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Tonia and Gary Walker, along with many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Surfrider Foundation http://surfrider.org/support-surfrider or your favorite charity. A celebration of his wonderful, though much too short, life will be held at the Caprio home in Moreno Valley following the service.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Eric and I are so sad to hear of Larry’s passing. Eric has said that he always thought of Larry as a mentor and a great friend. He had a generous spirit and always had a hearty hug to share with a warm smile. Eric and I always viewed Larry and Jackie as a happy couple who enjoyed each other. We would see you two at concerts and would comment to ourselves about how happy you two seemed. The love you shared was obvious. Our hope is that you find peace in all the lives that Larry touched. We are better people because he was our friend. Peace and love to Jackie and his beloved daughters.

  2. I remember lots of fun and find memories with Larry and Jackie, they we always more like my aunt and uncle then my cousins…..I loved our families traditionally of going to Knotts Berry Farm when I would visit for the FAMOUS Chicken dinners…you will be missed

  3. I’m still in shock and deeply saddened over the loss of one of the greatest people that God has blessed me with bringing into my life. Larry and I worked together for many years and with him there, it made for a very enjoyable working environment. I will always remember the days that we would play solitaire together until finally we got caught. I always admired Larry and the love he had for Jackie and his daughters. I would tell him “I want to find someone and have a relationship just like yours and Jackie’s”. His love for life and great sense of humor is a tremendous loss. Thank you Larry for always being there for the special times in our lives, you will forever be loved, remembered and terribly missed. Jackie, Tammy and Holly, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please let us know if there’s anything you ever need.

  4. Larry rest in peace you will be missed you were part of our family and loved. God bless you and your wonderful wife and daughters.

  5. Larry you will always hold a special place in my heart. You were not just my neighbor and friend, you were my 2nd dad. You gave me wonderful memories that I will cherish for my whole life. You were not just there for me growing up but helped me raise my kids with your wonderful summer adventures. Thank you for loving me and my family unconditionally. Thank you for the memories you made for Nicholas and Nathaniel. You were the one who taught them their firsts; from swimming in your pool to surfing on the waves. You made their summers growing up amazing. You always took the time to make me and my kids feel special and loved. From now on any FLAMING TRACY I make will be in your honor. Your smile, your laughs, your kindness, your friendship, and your 4th of July parties will never be forgotten. I know you are surfing the sky in heaven. I love you and you will be greatly missed.

  6. Larry, you are so much more than a friend to our family! You, Jackie, Tammi & Holly are part of so many happy memories. The soccer games and bar-b-qs,….4th of July, Superbowl & Christmas Eve-Eve…. birthdays, weddings, baby showers & graduations. Thank you for the countless home improvement projects – everywhere I look in my house, I see you! You didn’t have a lot of years in your life-but you had a lot of life in your years. You lived every day to the fullest. You loved all your girls so much, you and Jackie are the definition of love. We love you Larry, we will miss you terribly but most of all – we will REMEMBER you!! Thank you Caprio’s for being part of our family.

  7. Larry, you were such a blessing. Thank you for all you have done, and rest in God now, knowing you did a wonderful job on Earth, raised beautiful, kind daughters, and loved an amazing woman.
