Jolly Manzano Dauz

jolly dauz
Jolly Manzano Dauz was born on April 21, 1950, in Alcala, Pangasinan, Philippines. His parents were Juanito D. Dauz and Juanita L. Dauz (Manzano). After leaving the Philippines, Jolly lived in Hawaii; Beeville, Texas; and Southern California. He served in the Marine Corps from 1969-1971. He arrived at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California and received orders to report to Vietnam towards the end of his enlistment. However, at that time, U.S. troops were being removed from that country, and Jolly was thus not sent to serve in Vietnam. Jolly worked at different jobs (e.g., as a page at the Los Feliz Library and as a delivery person) before being hired by the Internal Revenue Service in August 1977. In October of 1981, he met his wife, Katherine Booth, at the Internal Revenue Service in Los Angeles. The two began dating in April 1982 and were married on February 23, 1985. Kathy and Jolly have two children, Christopher Sean and April Theresa. During his career with the IRS, Jolly worked as a tax examiner in Los Angeles and in Laguna Niguel, California. He retired from his position on July 31, 2005 since his unit was being disbanded and transferred at that time to Ogden, Utah and Memphis, Tennessee. Jolly was fond of viewing sports of all types, loved all kinds of music, loved to cook, and enjoyed watching many Filipino shows, astronomy programs, and National Geographic shows. His favorite Filipino actor was Fernando Poe, Jr. Jolly is survived by his wife, Katherine Dauz, children, Christopher and April, and several siblings, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
