England Family Mortuary England Family Mortuary began as a dream several years ago in Long Beach, CA. EFM manager, Joshua, and his father, Greg, worked part-time for a local funeral home and often were assigned to work on the same funeral. "We talked about how nice it would be to some day own our own funeral home and work full time together."
At that time, Joshua was in college, coaching his high school varsity baseball and soccer teams while Greg pastored a church full time. The idea was a dream at best.
Josh graduated from college and went to work full time for a prominent funeral home in Los Angeles. In time he moved to Temecula to be closer to his fiance, knowing they would make their home in the Temecula Valley. He continued to work full time as a funeral director and the dream was still a dream.
In February of 2007, the dream took on reality as we had the opportunity to purchase the land and building of the mortuary where Joshua worked. Completely renovating the facility, England Family Mortuary opened for business in June of that year.
Greg resigned after 30 years of pastoring churches to move to Winchester and work full time with Josh. The dream literally became reality. Janice England also left a teaching career to work with her husband and son as a pre-needs counselor, making this truly a family venture. She was licensed by the State of California as a funeral director in the summer of 2008.
With our combined 34 years of experience in dealing with families in grief, we bring to the funeral profession a heart-felt desire to minister to our families as they walk through this process. The interior of our mortuary has a distinct "at home" feel to it and we are very intentional in our desire to use this profession as a ministry to honor God.

Joshua, owner and manager of England Family Mortuary, is married to Heather Bither and they have three children, Jackson, Logan and Lillian.
He is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a degree in psychology, and brings to the mortuary his experience working with Stricklin - Snively Mortuary in Long Beach; Holy Cross Mortuary in Culver City; and Stout Family Funeral Home, of Temecula.
Joshua has extensive experience in handling funeral needs of all faiths as well as high profile funerals. He represents the young up and coming generation of funeral directors that are just beginning to influence the industry for the good.
Greg and Janice have two children, Joshua and Jessica. He has served three churches (Alabama, Florida, California) over the past 30 years as preaching minister, completing a 15-year ministry at his last church in Long Beach.
He has both undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and counseling as well as graduate work in theology and has worked with numerous families in the context of grief, dying, and death.
He began working part-time as a funeral assistant for Stricklin - Snively Mortuary (Long Beach) and Dilday Brothers Mortuary (Huntington Beach) before coming to England Family Mortuary full time in June of 2007.
Janice and Greg were married in 1975 and have worked together in ministry for over 30 years. She also taught elementary school for over 20 years, being certified in Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and California.
After many years of teaching, she is now focused on working as a funeral director with her husband and son, bringing a very tender and compassionate heart to those in grief.
Janice recently successfully passed her California Funeral Directors exam in 2008 and is now the third funeral director in the family.

Donna is married to John (1970) and not only manages the office, but assists in all areas of the mortuary. She has been a cemetery manager and has extensive experience in meeting with families for arrangement counseling, as well as assisting on funerals.
Most often you will meet Donna first when you call or visit. We are blessed to have Donna as a part of our family and she can answer most, if not all, of your questions.
Debbie has been a friend of the England family for many years and works with families during viewings and visitations. She is very friendly and helpful as families go through the funeral process. She is an uplifting person who treats the families we serve as if they were her own.
Eldon is a former business owner, regional and national sales manager and with wife Donna, have four children and sixteen grandchildren. He has served on many community boards and to elected office. He has been a Scoutmaster and served in various church leadership positions.
